COMPUTER DATA RECOVERY
Computer Data Recovery is the process of recovering data that is deleted or not available anymore t from the computer.
Before one embarks on spending money on computer data recovery from a computer, it is worth following a few steps to determine is data is actually lost from the computer.
It is fairly easy to misplace data (files, pictures etc) when working on a computer. One might have inadvertently moved file into a wrong place.
It really pays to know a few windows functions to search for the lost files.
To search for a file or folder:
- Click Start, and then click Search.
- In the Search Companion dialog box, click All files and folders.
- Type part or all of the name of the file or folder, or type a word or phrase that is in the file.
- In the Look in box, click the drive or drives, folder, or network location that you want to search.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Click When was it modified to look for files that were created or modified on or between specific dates.
- Click What size is it to look for files that are specific size.
- Click More advanced options to specify additional search criteria.
- Click Search

If you can see the files that you thought you may have lost, you are in luck. You have not lost any data and there no need to do anything further on data recovery all that has happened is that the data has been inadvertently moved.
If you can’t find the files it may be time to seek expert advice.
There are many causes for the loss of files.
These are;
- Virus attacks
- Hard Disk Crash
- Computer malfunction
